What I’m Watching
Name of Show: His dark materials on HBO Max, The Lost Boy episode
Brief Overview: This show put me in my feels when they got to the point where the boy Billy was found, but he was found without his daemon, which I guess is the animal version of one’s soul. They took the little boy Billy’s daemon and Lyra, the main character was able to bring him physically back but not his soul. Basically the Gooblers steal children for their daemon’s and the child is left as a ghost, soulless. It was the most heartbreaking thing that I’ve watched in a while.
How I have to organize my life to help with my anxiety. I like to plan. I forget stuff and end up stressing myself out from not being sure of things I feel I need to remember. So, writing things down in my planners helps me to stay organized and be able to quickly retrieve information. And my planners also help me to reflect and slow my mind down and focus. I have three planners!
1. The Badass Planner for 2021. I use this planner for my physical and mental health. I document my moods, my exercise, if I had any aches and pains and stuff that relates to my mental and physical health.
a. I also have just a composition notebook to help me count my calories, I could do it on my phone, but I won’t be consistent with it. Writing it down helps me to be more consistent and purposeful.
2. DesignWorksInk Planner. I love this brand and have been using them for 3 years. But I had to settle for this specific planner because I tried a new planner and was not happy with it when I received it. I use this planner for my life. I write what I have to do for the day, document what I did for the day and write down reminders for my life, like my work schedule, appointments, etc.
3. Mochi Planner. Remember how I mentioned that I tried another new planner? Well this was it. I found it on Pintrest and I didn’t like it when I originally received it and was going to send it back but then I decided that I could use it for school. Last semester I kept running out of room in my life planner for my life stuff, because of my school stuff. I’ll be using this one for documenting when assignments are due, test, exams and all school related stuff.
4. Other things I use, are a weekly planner tear off that I fill out with my work schedule and goals to accomplish in my personal life for the week. There’s a place for a quote for the week, one thing I really want to do, and one place I really want to go. I can just glance at it on my board and feel at ease about what day’s I work, remind myself of small goals I can accomplish for the week and not have to have the anxiety from not knowing.
I’m grateful for learning what helps me to relieve stress and anxiety from my life as much as I can.
Consistency is more important than perfection. -Unknown
